If The Living Chronicle crashes the moment you open it, run through these steps in order. The first three fix the vast majority of cases.
1. Force-quit and reopen
- iOS — swipe up from the bottom of the screen, find The Living Chronicle, swipe up on the card.
- Android — open the recents tray, find the Chronicle, swipe it away.
Then tap the icon again. If a temporary glitch caused the crash, it is gone now.
2. Update the app
Check the App Store or Play Store for an update. We push fixes within hours of a confirmed crash; chances are good a patch is already waiting.
3. Restart your device
If steps 1 and 2 do not help, do a full device restart. This clears any system-level state that might be confusing the app's launch path.
4. Reinstall
If a restart did not help:
- Delete the app.
- Reinstall it from the store.
- Sign back in.
Reinstalling does not delete your account or any progress — everything lives on our servers.
5. Send us the crash log
If reinstalling did not help, please email info@aegisbrightsmark.com with:
- Your device model and OS version.
- The app version (visible on the store page).
- The exact moment the crash happens (splash screen, after sign-in, on the chapter screen, etc.).
- A screen recording if you can capture one.
We usually have a fix within 24–48 hours of confirming a new crash class.
