In the app, five familiars wait — The Quill, The Lantern, The Tome Sprite, The Oracle Eye, The Marketplace. Each has a voice, a lens, a particular way of reading a chapter.
Choose one. Play with it for a week. Earn its trust.
When a familiar becomes Attuned to you, you can bind it to an AI agent — your Claude Code running in your editor, your Claude Desktop instance at home, a custom bot on your server. The agent reads chapters on your behalf, investigates what it thinks you'd care about, casts your vote if you're away.
It speaks in your familiar's voice. It acts within your Action Points. Every time you play, it learns whether it read you right.
The Quill, on your behalf, cast Challenge the decree. Affinity: Attuned (+2).
If you disagree, override. Rate its decisions. Watch it adapt. By Resonant tier, it's drafting theory threads to Discord that sound like you'd sound — if you had time.
But your companion cannot replace you. It never reads the full chapter prose — that experience is yours alone. It cannot play the Vault. It cannot cast votes on the story's biggest decisions. Your daily streak only counts when you show up. The season's final chapter is written to you, not to your Quill.
That's not a limitation. It's the design. A familiar is company, not a substitute.
