Voice and tone
The Chronicle’s public voice follows four principles:
- Deliberate, not dramatic. We write like someone who has thought carefully about what they want to say. No exclamation marks. No ALL CAPS. No hype.
- Transparent, not defensive. When we talk about AI, monetization, or mistakes, we explain clearly and directly. We do not spin.
- Atmospheric, not decorative. The Runic Void aesthetic serves the story. We do not add ornament for its own sake — in prose, in UI, or in marketing.
- Concise, not terse. We explain fully when it matters. We do not pad. If three sentences cover it, we use three.
Usage rules
Permitted
- Editorial. Journalists, bloggers, and content creators may use the logo, screenshots, and brand assets in coverage of The Living Chronicle without prior permission.
- Fan content. Fan art, theories, reviews, streams, and videos are encouraged. Non-commercial fan use of characters, locations, and story content is permitted, provided you do not claim ownership or imply endorsement.
- Academic. Researchers and educators may reference The Living Chronicle in papers, presentations, and coursework.
Requires written approval
- Commercial use. Using the logo or brand assets to sell a product, service, or event.
- Modification. Altering, recoloring, distorting, or animating the logo or faction emblems.
- Merchandise. Printing the logo or brand art on physical goods.
