You can change your username, but the system enforces a few rules to keep things sane.
Rules
- 3–20 characters.
- Letters, numbers, and underscores only. No spaces, no emoji.
- Must be unique site-wide.
- Cannot be a reserved word (admin, mod, system, etc.).
- Cannot impersonate another player or a public figure.
How to change
- Open Settings → Account.
- Tap Username.
- Enter the new name. The form will tell you immediately if it is taken.
- Confirm with your password.
Cooldown
You can change your username once every 30 days. The cooldown is per account. There is no way to bypass it — not by buying anything, not by contacting support.
Display name vs username
Your username is your unique handle. It cannot contain spaces. Your display name is what coven members see and can include spaces, accents, and most emoji. Display names do not need to be unique.
What if my username was banned?
If we have to take a username away (impersonation, hate speech, etc.), we will rename you to player_xxxxxx and unlock the username field for one free change. You will get an email explaining what happened.
