You missed a day. It happens. The Chronicle is designed so that catching up is easy — the world keeps moving without you, but nothing important is locked away.
Archive
Every published chapter is permanently in the Archive. Open Read → Archive and tap any past chapter. You can read the full prose at any time, in any order.
What you cannot do retroactively
- Vote. Vote windows close at the end of each chapter cycle. You cannot vote on a chapter from three days ago.
- Run investigations on closed chapters. Investigations target the current world state; you can run them now, but they reflect today's situation, not the situation as it was when you missed the chapter.
What you can do
- Read — every chapter, forever.
- Update your codex — discoveries you missed are still findable through current investigations.
- Discuss — both inside your coven and on the theory board (mind the 24-hour spoiler rule).
Streaks
If you have a daily-read streak going, missing one day breaks it. We do not sell streak protectors and we do not let you re-buy a broken streak. The streak is a gentle nudge, not a contract.
Catch-up summaries
If you have been gone for more than three days, the home screen offers a Catch-up summary — a few sentences per missed chapter. Tap it to read what happened in three minutes.
Coming back from a long absence
If you have been gone for weeks or months, do not try to catch up by reading every missed chapter linearly. Instead:
- Read the catch-up summary.
- Read the most recent two or three full chapters.
- Visit the lore wiki timeline to see what changed.
- Jump back into today's chapter.
You will be back up to speed in fifteen minutes.
